Hope, Healing, Home

The Friends of the Cecil stand with and accompany the residents of the Hotel Cecil. Fr. Dylan visits the Hotel Cecil a few times each week, spending time with residents, listening, offering support, and helping however he can. Whether it’s sharing a conversation, navigating resources, or celebrating small victories, he’s there to walk alongside people on their journey.

A team of dedicated volunteers also helps make sure residents have what they need—from essentials like food and clothing to a sense of community and connection. No judgment, no agenda—just people showing up for each other with kindness and respect.

Fr. Dylan's Work

At the Hotel Cecil, Fr. Dylan serves as a committed advocate and compassionate guide. His days are spent connecting with residents—listening deeply, offering steady support, and meeting people with empathy and respect, no matter where they are on their path. Whether it’s a heartfelt chat in the lobby, walking someone through available resources, or ensuring folks have the essentials that make a place feel like home, his work centers on trust and community. There’s no script, no one-size-fits-all approach—just showing up with an open heart, offering practical help, and reminding people they’re not alone.

Friends of the Cecil Food Bank

Our Friends of the Cecil Food Bank is entirely powered by community generosity—every item comes from individuals, businesses, and local partners who believe in supporting their neighbors. Twice a month, we provide food for as many as 75 residents, offering fresh and shelf-stable items that help make life a little easier. Nothing comes from government or social service programs—just people helping people.

Want to get involved?

Consider hosting a collection box for canned and shelf-stable food at your business, church, or workplace, or make a donation to help keep our shelves stocked. A little kindness goes a long way, and together, we can make sure no one at the Cecil goes hungry.
