Wellness Care
Wellness Begins with Presence.
At Friends of the Cecil, wellness is at the heart of everything we do. We believe the simple but vital act of being present can change lives. Through consistency, compassionate listening, and authentic relationships, we create opportunities for residents to seek support long before challenges become crises.
Our approach is rooted in whole-person care. Emotional, mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being are deeply connected, and every interaction is guided by dignity, respect, and compassion.
Volunteer mental health professionals are an important part of our wellness ministry. Through regular visits, they provide supportive conversations, help residents navigate challenges, and, when appropriate, connect individuals with counseling and other community resources.

Wellness also includes learning the skills to care for ourselves. We offer educational opportunities focused on stress management, healthy routines, emotional resilience, mindfulness, and practical self-care, helping residents build confidence and support long-term well-being.
Wellness Care is woven throughout Friends of the Cecil. Whether over coffee, during a visit to the Food Bank or Free Boutique, or through a quiet conversation, our goal is the same: to build a community where people are known, supported, and connected to the resources they need to thrive.
