For many residents, the Free Boutique is an important step in beginning again. Some arrive at the Hotel Cecil with little more than the clothes they are wearing. Others are preparing for a job interview, reconnecting with family, or simply looking for clothing that helps them feel comfortable and confident. Whatever the reason, everyone deserves the opportunity to choose—not simply accept whatever happens to be available.
From time to time, volunteer fashion professionals join us to help residents put together outfits, coordinate styles, and select clothing that reflects who they are and the goals they are working toward. Whether preparing for employment, a special occasion, or everyday life, these volunteers offer practical guidance while respecting each person's individuality and preferences.

Free Boutique
No Price Tags. Just Choice.
Clothing is about more than staying warm. What we wear reflects our personality, our confidence, and our sense of self. At Friends of the Cecil, we believe that dignity includes the freedom to choose the clothing that feels right for you.
That's why our Free Boutique isn't a place where people receive a random bag of donated clothing. Instead, residents are invited to browse and select the clothing, shoes, personal care items, and household essentials that best meet their needs and reflect their own style.
